After which she worked as the Marketing/PR director for the U of U Modern Dance Department for six years and continues to work as a free-lance designer and consultant. She is the Artistic Director of Movement Forum, is an adjunct faculty member at Salt Lake Community College and is a full-time dance teacher and director at Olympus High School. Danell received the Utah Emerging Artist Grant in 2006 and a Salt Lake Arts Council city grant in 2012 in conjunction with Erin Romero and Movement Forum. Her work or her dancing body has been seen in the Utah Arts Film Festival, the Festival International de Vidéo Danse de Bourgogne as well as on professional, university, college and high school stages around the US. Her greatest accomplishment however, is becoming the significant other of one of the hottest and most talented men this side O’ the Mississippi! She taught creative movement, technique, choreography and health at Saint John the Baptist Elementary and Middle school for 5 years. Kat has served as an instructor at several private studios across the salt lake valley and has worked as a guest instructor and choreographer for several middle and high schools. Most recently, she teaches at The School Dance. She is a founding member of Movement Forum. As an independent choreographer, her dances and dance films have been shown in multiple Salt Lake City venues and received support from the Utah Arts Council, the Salt Lake City Arts Council, and Sugarspace Studio for the Arts. She has been teaching Pilates since 2006 after completing her certification in New Zealand through the PhysicalMind Institute.
