Movement Forum (aka MoFo) decided to let some one else do the work for a while and commissioned 5 nationally and internationally recognized artists to set works on the company, the results of which will be presented on September 19 and 20, back where the company was just a twinkling in Graham Brown's eye, at the Marriott Center for Dance.
The evening will begin at 7:00 pm with a shout out to our roots with an outdoor site-specific work created by Gabriel Forestieri. The audience will then move into the theater, like a hoard of dance hungry zombies, where the company will perform works by the O.G. of Improv, Ishmael Houston-Jones, Utah's own (and inspiration to the company) Stephen Koester, the infamous Miguel Gutierrez and Yvonne Meier, a rockstar in her own right. This show may have some adult content so bring your earplugs and an open mind.
PS this project was made possible by launching a successful Kickstarter Campaign and funding from the Salt Lake City Arts Council and Utah Division of Arts and Museum. We are also sponsored by Ashley Anderson's LoveDANCEmore and getting major studio time from Rowland Hall Upper School.
